Mujer Manifesto: A Texas-Based Feminist Zine

Mujer Manifesto is a Texas-based feminist zine committed to celebrating the voices of women and nonbinary creatives. Published by The Gallery ATX, a woman-powered Austin nonprofit supporting emerging artists since 2015, each volume brings together local writers, photographers, and visual artists around a single theme — exploring identity, community, and self through art and critical social inquiry.

Now six volumes strong, Mujer Manifesto has featured dozens of Texas-based contributors and continues to grow as a platform for varied, unfiltered narratives. Volume 6, Metamorphosis, explores the internal shifts that quietly define us — the pang of leaving, the weight of returning, and the continuous labor of rebuilding the self — through the lens of women and nonbinary creatives across Austin and beyond.

Mujer Manifesto exists to challenge conventional binaries and create an inclusive space for stories that don't always get room to be told. Physical copies are available for purchase, and past volumes remain part of a growing archive of Texas feminist publishing.

Looking to contribute to the next volume? Submissions and updates on future themes will be shared in our email newsletter and Instagram.
